It may be the last long weekend of the summer, but it will be a hot one in Hubbards this Labour Day weekend. There will be a double header at the Shore Club with two big icons of rock music, and head to the Trellis for dinner and entertainment. On Saturday night, August 30th, the Shore Club is proud to welcome back Matt Minglewood. Minglewood first made an appearance at the Shore Club in 1969, when he entered on the back (literally) of Sam Moon. His hard driving style of 'Raunch and Roll' has been his trademark. He has a whole generation of fans in Nova Scotia, and across Canada. When you are at a Minglewood show, every song is an anthem, and the crowd knows them all by heart. On Sunday night August 31st, North America's #1 Creedance Clearwater Revival tribute band - Green River Revival will be on stage. They have been playing to major Festivals all over North America, and we have been very lucky to be able to have them come to Hubbards for a 'small-venue' show. Green River has probably performed all these great tunes more times than CCR themselves. Just close your eyes and you would think that John Fogarty himself was on stage. They will be on stage on Sunday August 31st (long weekend) from 9:30 - 1:00. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Tickets are available at the Shore Club every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. http://www.ccrtribute.com Shining Waters Marine in Tantallon is featuring Lobster Suppers every Wednesday night, with the best view in the Bay www.shiningwaters.ca Don't forget, Monday is Labour Day, so you have a day to rest. What have you got planned for Monday September 8th? Mark Monday September 8th on your calendar for a Gala Evening (7:00 - 9:30) of wine tasting, hors d'euvres, art show and auction, together with a silent auction. To be held at the Shore Club, tickets are $25 per person and are now available at the Shore Club or by calling 857-9555 with a valid credit card. There will be over 40 wines available for tasting from both Nova Scotian and International wineries. The art show will feature the works of Joe Fitzpatrick and his students who will be coming to Hubbards from all over North America for his painting workshop. http://www.artscape.net/ Each of the students will be donating a piece of art for the auction. Top this off with a silent auction and lots of tasty finger foods, with all proceeds going to the Terry Fox Foundation for Cancer Research. |
